Technical staff, UAF Alaska Satellite Facility
Scott Arko has been a member of the technical staff at the Alaska Satellite Facility at the University of Alaska Fairbanks for 18 years, including his current position as the facility’s Deputy Director. He holds a Masters degree in Physics from Colorado State University and has worked in the airborne and space industry for over 20 years.
In addition to his current position as ASF’s Deputy Director, he also serves as an engineer for the ASF antenna systems and was the manager of the Americas ALOS Data Node during the life of the ALOS satellite.
His interests include using low cost camera systems and UAVs for high-resolution mapping, digital elevation model generation, and change detection using a variety of spaceborne and airborne sensing systems.
